| MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH
HYPNOSIS by Gabriel (c) 2006 All Rights Reserved My
name is Ranvir (that means “Royal Man”). This is the story of my first
experience with hypnosis. It happened on New Year’s Day of 1970, when I
was thirteen. We lived in Belgaum, in the State of Karnataka, India.
Our family, my parents and my three siblings (I’m the oldest of four),
were invited to celebrate New Year in Panaji (about 80 miles west of
Belgaum), in Goa near the Arabian Sea (part of the Indian Ocean), where
my mother’s sister and her daughter, cousine Aishwarya lived.
Aishu
(endearing) was 18 at that time. She was tall and shapely, had
beautiful thick black hair and a very pretty face with almond shaped
faint green eyes. Her copper toned skin was smooth as silk. She always
wore the most exquisite vibrant colored saris and tasteful jewelry. It
was at a New Year’s Day beach party that I had my first hypnotic
experience.
This is what happened: Aishu and I were sitting under a canopy, on covers and pillows. She was reading a book while facing the ocean. I lay next to her resting my head on my hand and arm. I dreamily looked at Aishwarya and at the waves rolling in and breaking when they reached the beach. All the other kids are playing near the water and the parents are walking around. We are alone in this little oasis on the beach, our tent has gauze curtains on the back and sides. It is late in the afternoon on this beautiful sunny first day of the New Year and warm air blows through the tent. I ask: “Aishu, what are you reading?” You
close the book and say I just finished it and show me the cover. I
read: “Practical Hypnotism by Dr. Dutta Shrimali”. I asked: “Aishu,
what is Hypnotism?” You say: “stand up a moment I’ll show you”. You ask
me to stand in front of you. You’re a good five inches taller than I
am. So I have to look up which makes my eyes roll up and in and you
know that is what you want to happen to accelerate the induction. You
are facing to the south and slightly to the west. I’m facing northeast.
You tell me to look in your eyes. In your pretty water colored green
eyes. I see the reflection on the blue-green water
and a golden shimmer of the sun in it.
It transforms your eyes into lavender-green colored gemstones
with a bright glistening in them.
You
perform a perfect induction with magnetic passes and all. The last
thing I hear is: “when I touch your lips, you will slowly open your
eyes, you’ll be wide awake and then you’ll say: ”Aishwarya, I love you
and I will obey all your commands, forever”.
Then
I feel a gentle peck on my lips. I slowly open my eyes, my eyes blink a
little and I take a deep breath. It feels like I step out of a deep
blue haze that is now blown behind me by the soft warm breeze. I look
at your pretty smiling face and say: ”Aishwarya, I love you and I will
obey all your commands forever”.
I look at you for a moment and say: “…but Aishu, what is
Hypnotism?”.
Suddenly
a wave breaks and comes crashing to the shore with a thundering roar.
Massive amounts of white foam runs to the beach. We both turn around
and in unison we say: Wow, that was amazing…
