A few years ago I went to my 20th high school reunion. Walking through the bar, one of the girls who barely gave me the time of day fell over herself to exclaim "OMG, Tom Allen - you're so sexy now!" We chatted for a few minutes while I waited for my drinks, and it came up that she was divorced. "Figures," said Mrs. Edge later "she was boyfriend shopping."
Of course, I am sexier than I was in high school...
And a girl that I used to date sat with me for a while and blabbed on for a freakin' hour about all the nice things her husband buys here - rings, jewelry, cars... too bad he can't get her a personality transplant.
Fortunately, I don't spend much time thinking about those days. I'm aging rather well, so I'm usually thinking about the future ;-)
I loved the clip and sadly very true about what often happens when people marry into money. I wonder who she was imagining it might be as she sat there in anticipation waiting for this person to arrive.........
