A Little Eye Candy From My Fav TV Programs

Ladies first of course ;) Above - Dennis Haysbert of The Unit. If you haven't seen this show, I suggest renting the first season and kicking back for a treat. The Unit is based on Delta Force, the special forces branch of the US Army. Suspense, intrigue, secret missions, and a view into the lives of the women who are married to such brave men. What's not to like? And Dennis Haysbert - he's luscious :) Strong, capable, decisive. Just what a leader should be. Pity he can't really be President like he was for a few seasons of 24.

I'm not certain but I think there aren't many people who wouldn't recognize Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer from 24. Mr. Bauer is probably one of the most recognized characters on TV today and for a good reason. Who wouldn't want to watch a strong, capable, somewhat MacGuyver-like man who is always able to step in and save the day? Elizabeth if you are reading this, wouldn't it be lovely to find a photo of him on his knees? Yum.

Anyone who's been reading my blog for several months knows I am a Lost fan. There are few frivolous things that I consider "must do" in my life, but watching Lost at some point in the week is on my "must do" list. Above is Terry O'Quinn aka John Locke. Ladies, ladies, ladies. If you haven't seen Lost you can't appreciate the sexiness of this man. I admit I adore bald and balding men but it's more than that. There's just something about him.

Alright fellas, I've finally posted something to catch your eyes, haven't I? It's good to be patient ;) Above, Angeline Lilly looking very little like Kate Austen of Lost fame. What... you say you think she looks hotter this way? I must admit, I'm a bit surprised to hear that ;)

Last is the lovely Saffron Burrows of Boston Legal. Saffron as Lorraine Weller really is low on my list of the fabulous characters from this series, but I thought you fellows would prefer looking at her rather than James Spader or William Shatner ;) If you haven't seen Boston Legal you are missing absolutely the best show on TV in my opinion. It's well written, funny, and politically preachy in a way that makes you glad someone is taking a stand. Pick up the first season on DVD and see what you think!

Speaking of picking up DVDs of previous seasons, we may all be doing that soon. Thanks to the writers strike in Hollywood it's likely our favorite programs will be put on hold for awhile. I hadn't paid much attention to this strike other than to be irritated that Lost and 24 would probably be delayed in their January season premieres because of this. This apathy was short lived after I visited my friend RAB's blog yesterday. He's written a piece about the strike and offered a couple of videos made by the writers of The Daily Show. What an eye opener! Since I believe in supporting people who are wronged and these people are clearly wronged, I decided to write this entry today. Notice how I sweetly drew you in with eye candy though? ;)

Visit RAB's blog and take a look at that entry. I think it will move you to visit the unofficial WGAE blog and then perhaps to sign their petition. When I looked earlier over 50,000 people had signed to show their support. I for one and tired of seeing big business get away with things like this and was more than happy to support their cause.

Nice lasso you used to rope me in;-)

Now I understand some of the details behind the strike. The writers will need to stand firm. Management will try and break the strike and get them to take less. As I was told by a company president once, "if I can get them (his employees) to work for $4 an hour, why go up?" The needs of his workers wasn't part of his thought process.

I hope the writers prevail.

Are you going to boycott programs until the strike is over?

Hey, we watch several of the same programs.

=)

Thank You for taking the time to put in nice links to everything.

i think as more and more viewers find other things to do with their time, the advertising sponsors will either lose interest in wasting dollars or will put pressure on the networks to negotiate a fair contract with the writers union. It's all about leverage. Power to the people!

Many thanks for the kind words! Your cleverness in luring people to read my blog through eye candy makes me feel the WGA missed a bet by not recruiting you as a negotiator. For a start, those contract talks sure would become a lot more interesting...
