Tuesday Ramblings

I had this beautiful flower picked out for my entry when I realized today is Tuesday. It's been just too long since I've thought about Terrific Tush Tuesday. How can this happen? No wonder I haven't been feeling well! I haven't been oogling (errr.. I mean appreciating) men's behinds as I should. I will most certainly have to rectify that ;)

Thank you all for the well wishes - they truly mean a lot. I've been inspired to begin writing here again. I won't do it as often and I won't yet return to responding to emails or participating in my group, but this is a start. I'm not going to allow my life (or my posts) to be taken over by my illness so I'm not planning on mentioning that very often, if at all. I've very sick, but thinking about it and talking about it all the time won't help. It's time to focus on the more positive things in my life.
I'm not really sure what to talk about in this my first post in weeks. I suppose I could discuss world events a bit. The news is full of titillating topics, isn't it? Did you know that for Paris Hilton's first morning in jail she was served cereal, bread, and juice? Hello journalism world!! Surely there is a more newsworthy story out there?? True journalists - what few there are left - must be shuddering in abject dismay.

I missed the Democratic debate over the weekend and I'm miffed about that as I don't think they're going to re-air it. It sounds as if it was much better than the first one. If you happened to have seen it I'd be interested in hearing your assessment of how the candidates did. I'm still leaning in favor of Barack Obama, but it's too far out to make a firm decision.
About American Idol, since I haven't posted about that since it ended I thought I'd comment. Can't believe that Melinda Doolittle was voted off but of the two remaining contestants I was glad Jordin won. She's got a lot of talent for someone only 17 and I think she'll have a big career ahead of her. Hopefully both Melinda and Jordin will release CDs by the end of the year.
Hmm - a very hodgepodge entry thus far and no mention of hypnosis or D/s. I'll have to rectify that next time I suppose. There are a few things that have happened in the last few weeks that might be of interest ;)
Speaking of interest (before I stop writing for the day), I did find that I was the subject of a comment left on another blog. It seems that I "look down my nose at professional hypnodommes". For the record, that isn't true. I do take issue with anyone who deliberately harms another and/or proceeds without any concern for the emotional health and safety of their submissives. As a profession I have no issue with it as long as it is done with regard for the welfare of the consumer. I found her remarks quite humorous as I never even think of her until she surfaces to make a comment like this. Rook laughingly remarked last night that the entire situation reminded him of an exchange from Casablanca:
Ugarte: "You despise me, don't you?"
Rick: "If I gave you any thought I probably would."
Rick: "If I gave you any thought I probably would."
Ah well, more tomorrow and I promise it will be less of a hodgepodge of comments.

It's a joy to see that You were feeling spunky enough to break through discomfort and (i suspect) nausea to post again.
But mostly i hope you'll only do so when feeling fully rested.
i love the flower.
i loved the Casablanca parallel.
With American Idol there is a phenomenon that occurs when the there is a perceived leader that most folks think of as "safe". In that case there is a tendency for the vote to go to those perceived as the "under dog" runner-up candidates. So sometimes the result can be surprising. But i am very happy for Jordin.
i miss You and am pulling often for You in my thoughts and prayers for You to feel much better.
=)
Dear Lady Julia,
Nice to see you back, and "no", it didn't seem like rambling. However, if one wishes to ramble, what better place than on one's blog? I sometimes ramble to my cats, though to them it's probably the equivalent of "Nice kitty, kitty, kitty...." At least on a blog one can receive comments other than the sound of coughing up a hairball. (OK, so perhaps the negative comment some pro-domme made about you sounded like hairball coughing.)
I'm hungry. Do you ever post recipes on your blog?
Arafin
Yeah! Blogdom is so much brighter when you are posting:)
As far as someone writing unfounded and catty things on a blog, to quote the same wonderful movie, "I am shocked, shocked to find that is going on in here!
Be well:)
So glad to see a fresh post; I left you a bit of color on mine.
Hope it is a stronger day tomorrow!
Garry

Wonderful to see You posting once again, Julia! Your other R/readers that have posted comments on this entry are correct... You do brighten up S/someone's day. You have a wonderful calming, kind and sweet presence in the world of blogging, and I for One am happy to see You back.
I hope that Your health continues to improve and that You continue to not allow Your illness to get the best of You. Stay strong, Sister, You have a lot of P/people pulling for You.
One final comment, about Jordin Sparks... what a voice! Wow!

So You Think You Can Dance?
Here's a little something else for Your relaxing moments: Jaimie and Hokuto aka "Hok" give Hip Hop performance from Wednesday's So You Think You Can Dance program.
i noticed a little tongue in cheek D/s expression sprinkled in at the end of their performance - very cute.
i wish the quality of the clip were better, but it'll give You an idea.
There are 10 dance couples and the show last night was the first of the competition with each couple taking a different dance style. The format of the program is similar to American Idol, but i think i may enjoy this show even more.
Thank you all for the support :) You're darlings - truly.
Robert, your link led to a "malformed video". Not sure what that means, but I thank you for attempting to share with me - you're very sweet!
Oh, i'm sorry, i see what i did wrong...
Here's a correction:

Hey Lady,
Great to see you back! Love the Tuesday Tush segment. Great pic. I have acquired a new playtoy. He is in his 20's with a fantastic tush of his own.
