I like that quote because I think it's true. It certainly is for me anyway. While I have fun posting images of young buff male behinds, I don't want to send a message that isn't accurate. Sexy is who you are, not what you look like. It's an attitude - that confidence (without arrogance - arrogance is so not sexy), that lust for life, that ability to laugh and enjoy yourself not just sexually but in every way.

As a prolific poster of perfect posteriors, I completely agree with you. Eye candy is fun on the blog, but our society is really out of whack when it comes to our bodies.
I do some volunteer work with teen girls and their body image issues are very real. What really scares me is that in our community,
teenage boys are taking steroids. And it’s not even to play sports. They just want to look buff:(
Maybe we should all simply strive for a reasonable diet and some moderate activity. The goal not being a centerfold body, but simply a healthy body in which to enjoy life. And that body can come in all shapes and sizes.
“Looks” are a very secondary thing and are not what lasting relationships are built upon. Besides, I think most of us find out that in the soft and adoring lightening of our lover’s eyes, we are all beautiful and sexy:)

Oops. Sorry. I meant "lighting" not lightening or lightning or whatever I was trying to spell:) If there are thunderbolts coming out of your lover's head, you're probably not having sex anyway. At least until you apologize and bring her some flowers:)

Susan's comment is so topical! At my University Bulimia is such a big problem. In the college I once lived at, you could hear girls vomiting in the bathroom after breakfast. And the boys, not all but some took steriods to help them in their sporting careers. Did Sylvester Stallone make the news in America about getting arrested for possesion of steriods when he came to Sydney 2 weeks ago?
Not my role model.
Nigel, hadn't heard that about Sly but a google news search pulled up tons of mentions about the incident.
It's sad that so much stress is placed on youth and physical beauty. Of course we want to be attracted to our partners but someone doesn't have to look like an actor/actress or be younger than 40 to be sexy.
I do notice that when I've posed the question, "Who are the five sexiest women you know?", men in my group almost all list women like Angelina Jolie, Lindsay Lohan, etc. Rarely do they list a woman 40 or older.
Tom you are funny, intelligent, and articulate. That equals attractive in my book :)
