Lost!

Tonight's my favorite TV night of the week. We always TiVo Lost on Wednesday night and watch in Thursday evening while eating take-out Chinese food. I know many gave up on the show last season when it got slow, but thus far they've made up for it this season and then some. (If you quit watching, check out the summary episodes they showed either the first of the season or a couple of weeks ago and the one that aired a couple of weeks ago and then join me :) If you live in the US you can watch this entire current season on ABC's website.
I know there are several Lost fans who read my blog so I thought it would be fun to ask a few Lost related questions (my answers in parentheses). (Feel free to skip any question.)
Who's your favorite Lost character and why? (Sayid - he's the sort of man who gets things done with confidence and not a lot of angst. Even though he has done things for which he isn't proud in service of his country, overall he seems honorable and trustworthy. If I were stranded on that island, he'd be the character I'd most want to be there. My second favorite would be Hurley just because he's so sweet and he tries to make certain everyone is doing ok.)
What's your favorite Lost "theory"? (I think the entire thing is one big mind control experiment that has gotten completely out of control. This doesn't explain the X-files sort of phenomena that occurs, but I'm at a loss to explain that. I'm afraid in the end they'll just pull out some silly explanation for all that.)
Do you think we'll see any more of Michael and Walt? (I don't because the actor who plays Walt is aging in real world time, not tv show Lost time. They've only been on the island a couple of months and this is the third season.)
Feel free to add questions in the comments section and I'll modify this entry.

Last summer chance and I were dog sitting at his sister's place and bored one evening we noticed they had Season 1 and 2 on DVD.
We loved it. We went into marathon mode and watched for the entire weekend. We have been a huge fan of the show ever since. We do not watch much TV, but we sit down every Wednesday as a family now to watch Lost.
Sawyer is my favourite character. Sayeed is a very close second. But there is something about Sawyer, I am a sucker for the misunderstood bad boy.

I watched the first season that way and it was riveting. I like Sawyer too, but I find myself feeling sorry for him too much of the time. He wants so much to be "better" but seems to think he can't. He definitely needs a strong lady to take him in hand ;)
If you haven't seen it yet, you guys need to rent firefly. I have yet to show it to someone who didn't like it. It's in the sci fi genre, but don't think of it that way when you start watching. It doesn't feel like any other sci fi show I have ever seen...and the best part, like every Joss Whedon show, is that the females are empowered characters and what they do and say matters.
I will admit I am a sci-fi fan, in fact I could probably be called a treckie, but a cool one of course ...lol. I will try and track it down.
I love Voyager and am proud to say that even though chance did not want to give her a chance initially being a Picard fan. Janeway has taken the place as his favourite Commander.
We even call our car .. a 1991 Buick that is trustworthy to get us where we need to be, Janeway.

Here is a link to the amazon listing. Right now it's 29.95, but look around. If you buy it, don't pay more than $20. It will go on sale, and probably is on sale somewhere for that.

Firefly is an excellent series! I didn't see it while it was running (which apparently is the case for many sci-fi fans), but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it on DVD. Fox (I think it was FOX) certainly made a poor decision on the date/time of airing this show and on promoting it. It definitely could have been a big hit for them had they done things right.
You are right, it is Fox. I think I suggested firefly to people some time ago. How did you find out about it? Am I to assume you have also see the movie then (Serenity)? To anyone who is reading this who hasn't, don't watch the movie before watching the series.

Michael told me about Firefly. He saw it about a year and a half ago. Yes, I saw Serenity too. It was good, but not as good as the series.
That's interesting, because I thought the movie was better...but only if you watched the series. As you know, the movie assumes you know everyone and doesn't do to much beginning type character intros. I just wish there wasn't so much finality to it because I want more!
