A Personal Note To My Friends

I wanted to update my friends on a couple of things and this seemed the best place to do that. Apologies to the rest of you for the personal note.
Bill has had a pretty rough week with the chemo but that's not unusual at all. His spirits seem to be really good, though. We've been doing a lot of hypnosis focusing on relaxation and anxiety control. He naturally gets worried about what will happen to him and he also gets worried about being sick from the chemo. The hypnosis and guided imagery seem to really make a difference. I'm so glad that it does because it's a pretty helpless feeling to watch someone going through all that and feel as if you can't do anything.
I've been pretty sick this week but I'm doing better. I know a lot of you wonder about my frequent illnesses but there's no need to be overly concerned. I'm tough and can handle this :)
We are going today to find out how seriously ill my father is and what his prognosis and treatment options are, so I may be away a few days longer depending on what we learn this afternoon. Mom is hanging tough so far but I'm not sure how well she will do if the news is really bad. She's one incredibly strong lady so I hope she'll handle things ok. Dad is still pretty much living in denial-ville, so he's ok so far.
I'll respond to all your emails when I can. Don't feel you can't write to me now because things are tough - I am always happy to hear from my friends even if I can't respond right away. Hopefully this weekend I'll have time to write back. Mom and Dad are going to St. Louis to visit my brother and will be attending a Cardinals game with seats five rows from the field :) That'll be great for them and it'll hopefully give me a little free time.
There is a story or two about some wonderful toys that I want to share with you ;) Check back when you have the time.

Warmest hopes and best wishes for you in all things.
Wishing you the best... as always, AND in all ways ;)
Take Care,

Dear Lady Julia,
It's been some time since we spoke (sometimes my professional life and personal life come too close together, and I have to "insert some distance," but I'm glad to be back on the net and hope to catch up with old friends). You and Bill have been in my thoughts throughout the weeks. My most sincere wishes for a wonderful weekend, and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and Bill for comfort during this most difficult time.
David
You are in My thoughts. I am sending You healing energy for everything that You are going through.
My best,
Aradia
Dear Lady Julia,
I’m a bit distressed by Your repeated references to illness, other peoples illness and Your dismissal of these issue. It sounds like the wheels really are coming off at the moment so please take good care of yourself. You know, You don’t have to be superwoman. Just save yourself and as much of the world as You can manage.
Don’t go down in a blaze of glory just because You care more about others than about Yourself. Going down that way is a great way to be remembered but I and (quite a few others) would rather keep You around...
Besides that, I still owe You for the help You’ve given me. Don’t die on me before I’ve had a chance to repay You ;-)
Cheers,
John
I understand the frustration one can feel when someone near to them is suffering. I am glad to hear that Bill's spirits are good and that the hypnosis is helping. My prayers go with him.
I also continue to pray for your health and for your strength of will to carry on so that you can continue to handle it each and every day. I also pray for wisdom for you to know when you need to take care of yourself, that you will find the proper balance.
I am also hoping that the news about your Dad was good and that your Mom will be able to be strong in the face of any news that may come.
Yeah, what Anonymous said... take care of Yourself, Your father and Bill. But mostly, Yourself. This may be a long haul.
Have a great weekend!
Will
Dear Lady Julia,
You are facing a considerable amount of turmoil and worry with bravery and love. I hope that all things return to a more happy state soon.
Thank you all for your very kind words :) And Aradia, thank you for the healing energy and Mark for the prayers. There aren't words to express how much your kindness means to me.
David, it's nice to see that you're back.
John, I have a chronic illness that is just going to get me down for small periods of time. You are right to encourage me to take better care of myself and I'm working on that. Nurses aren't the best at that so the reminders are probably well founded :) I promise not to die on you any time soon!
