EFFICACY OF HYPNOSIS MP3s Recently in my group Hypnoboth offered the following advice to those who want to make their hypnotic endeavors more effective. They're simple but very powerful suggestions. "Two tips: 1) Stop trying. Let it happen. 2) Going into trance improves with practice. If a hypnotist or MP3 did not have much effect on you, keep listening. Try it for a while." Someone else asked "what if the MP3 has no effect? Should I keep listening?" There are some hypnosis MP3s that I've listened to for sleep, relaxation, etc. that I just, for whatever reason, did not like. (For example, I personally don't like subliminals because I don't trust what they are saying). In addition, I think there has to be at least a little "click" there with the hypnotist's voice and style and that seemed to be absent. If something like that is the case, it's unlikely that you're going to have positive results any time soon and I'd suggest moving on to another MP3. Who knows, maybe later you can go back after you've had other successes and those particular MP3s will hit you in a different way. In fact, I know that can be the case because I've read comments like that from people in my group. If you're trying my MP3s, you may find that some work better for you at first than others. I use imagery in some, a directive approach in others, and so on. Some people find imagery difficult at first, others really enjoy it. Finally, I think it is very important be reasonable in what you expect. If you think you are not having results, ask yourself a few questions. When you listened, were you relaxed? Were you aroused (presuming it's an erotic hypnosis MP3)? Did you focus on at least some portion of the session? Were any of the suggestions effective even a little? If any of those questions receive an affirmative response, then I would suggest you continue to listen for awhile (assuming relaxation, arousal, focusing, and efficacy of suggestions are things you want...) ;) Often, people's expectations are unrealistic because of the things they've read in purely fictional stories or have seen in movies/TV programs. For many people being hypnotized is a learning process. Well... actually, I think it is more of a learning to believe and accept process. And... learning to let go. Some people can do that right away and others take time. If you haven't initially been able to let go, that doesn't mean you can't achieve the things you desire with hypnosis. For some it just takes a little more time :) Presuming you trust the hypnotist, relax, let go, and accept that it can and will happen. Allow him/her to control what happens during that time. |
