ON HYPNOSIS We've been discussing expectations in my YahooGroup. Do people's expectations effect what they get out of life? subpaul_wa wrote: "i think it is more difficult to achieve things without having the expectation or belief in your mind that it can be achieved ... hypnosis is a good example .. if you don't believe you can be hypnotized, i think it becomes a much harder thing to do ... kind of goes along with the idea that to achieve something successfully you should set the goal, and see it happening in your mind ... even write it down on paper ... on the other side of the coin there are always things that happen in our life that we don't expect or did not have expectations of happening ... which are always nice when they come under the heading of 'nice surprises'." I found this excellent advice for those who have yet to experience hypnosis or who have tried without success. Believe that you can be hypnotized. If you have difficulty letting go, consider trying this: Pretend you are entering into hypnosis. Then, pretend you are going deeper. Then, pretend you're not pretending. See yourself going under. Don't struggle. Letting go is easy by definition. It's hanging on that is difficult :) |
