| HYPNOTIZING BILL August 28, 2005 by Lady Julia I had a nice day yesterday. I couldn't get around and do much because of my injured ankle so I was forced to harass Bill a little :) It had been over a week since I'd hypnotized him so I decided yesterday was the day. He's a good subject and very suggestible. Since he's my boss (my patient for those of you who don't know), I've always kept my sessions with him on a therapeutic level. We've worked on sleeping better, decreasing anxiety, and decreasing the nausea from the chemo he has to take. To date we've had really good success. I guess I was in a playful mood, because I asked him if I could instill a fun post hypnotic suggestion. He eyed me dubiously and laughingly declined. After a few playful teases about his being afraid, he acquiesced. I was delighted. After a nice long induction (he loves those and that was his reward for allowing me to place the post hypnotic suggestion), I began telling him how much he enjoyed waiting on me. Now to be fair, he has been doing a great job doing things for me since I hurt my ankle. I just thought it would be fun for him to really, really enjoy it. I described how happy he would feel when doing something for me. A smile on his face.. humming a little bit under his breath without really being aware of it.. moving quickly and eagerly to do things for me... and lastly, whenever I said thank you he would always be so pleased that he would respond with "anything for you Lady Julia". I explained to him that this feeling would only last for the remainder of the day and that when he awakened the next morning everything would revert to normal. Finally, I suggested he could forget the details of the trance if he was so inclined as that would make things so much more enjoyable for us both. The long induction had taken him pretty deep so I felt comfortable that he would forget if he wanted to. (I wasn't about to TELL my boss to forget - smiles). Besides, he's not submissive and I thought to do this to him without him wanting it wouldn't really be fair or effective. After I ended the trance he said he felt wonderful but a little fuzzy. I assured him fuzzy was a good thing sometimes and just smiled. About 20 minutes later I mentioned that I was thirsty and would have to get up to get something to drink. He jumped up from his chair and said, "no, no, let me get that for you." Ok.. I thought well, he's usually sweet like that so it could mean nothing. When he came back from the kitchen he'd fixed a little tray with some sliced fruit and a nice glass of iced tea. As he positioned the tray I noticed he was smiling and humming softly. Seriously. I almost laughed in delight, but I managed not to. When I asked him what he was humming he responded that he didn't know.. he hadn't realized he had been humming. After he had the tray settled I thanked him and he absently responded "anything for you Lady Julia". At the end of the evening I told him what had happened and he laughingly called me an evil, evil woman. I simply smiled. |
