| AVRO PART August 9, 2005 2pm By 1pm, it had already been a long, difficult day. I thought I'd sit back for a few moments and listen to my newest aquisition, Avro Part's "Alina" - music so soothing... so simple.. so breathtakingly gorgeous that the notes seem to enter my mind and travel directly to my soul. Before the first track ended, I feel a cloak of peace cradling my mind. Seldom outside of hypnosis and sleep have I felt so thoroughly relaxed. Part, a modern day Estonian born composer, compares his music to "white light which contains all colours", adding "only a prism can divide the colours and make them appear. This prism could be the spirit of the listener." I couldn't agree more. If you ever consider listening to music while being hypnotized, this could be the CD for you. (Thanks to my friend gamma for telling me about this wonderful modern classical composer.) |
